Ronald S. Wisbith

Together Again

1935-2025

LISBON, Ohio - Loving husband, father and grandfather, Ronald Stanley Wisbith, of Lisbon, passed away Wednesday evening, April 9, 2025, at his home. He was 89 years old.

Born in Chewton, Pennsylvania, Aug. 16, 1935, he was a son of the late Stanley and Valeria Landman Wisbith. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City in 1953. Ron served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1961 where he was a Corporal E3. While in the military, he earned his bachelor's degree from Geneva College. He began his career with the AC Neilson Company in Chicago and later returned to the area where he owned and operated the Ara Corporation, a family-owned printing company in Koppel, Pennsylvania, as a joint venture with wife.

Ron was always active in his community. He was the leader of Boy Scout Troop 40. He was a founding member of Rescue 40, Search, Rescue and Recovery Team which later became U.S. SARR Corps. He was also very devoted to the Beaver County Christmas Extravaganza where he served as chairman. He was an avid reader of history, enjoyed building miniature aircraft and military models. He played saxophone in a band in college and always enjoyed jazz music.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Ellen McKenry Wisbith. The couple was married for 55 years until her passing in 2017. He was also preceded by a son, Brian Wisbith; son-in-law, Ed Kernich; and two brothers, Anthony S. Wisbith and Stanley M. Wisbith.

There are three daughters: Laurie Kernich of Lisbon, Christine Balmenti and her husband, John, of Lisbon, and Amy Tyger of New Waterford, and a son, Scott Wisbith and his wife, Jody, of East Palestine. Also left to cherish his memory are eight grandsons, Ryan, Daniel, Kyle (Kim), Thomas, Conner, Jeremy, Nathanial, and Kamron, as well as two granddaughters, Jessica (Joshua) and Lauren (Phil). There are 12 great-grandchildren: Logan, Nicole, Olivia, Caleb, Brody, Luka, Emma, Aubrey, Benjamin, Chloe, Miles and Casey.

Friends may visit Sunday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m. Chaplain Dan Tayman will conduct a funeral service Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
