It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Manuel Emanuel Peter Birk, who passed away on April 13, 2025, at the age of 78 in Garden City, Kansas. Manuel was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, and later became a resident of the United States.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Waltraut "Trudi" H. Birk. Manuel is survived by his daughter, Krista Jonelle Figley and son-in-law, Daniel F. Figley, his brother Bernie Birk and sister-in-law Sue Birk, as well as three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who were the light of his life.
A proud graduate of East Palestine High School, Manuel enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life. He was an avid reader, a passionate follower of sports, and took great joy in keeping up with the milestones of his daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Manuel had a unique ability to make people laugh and was always ready to lend a listening ear. His warmth, sense of humor, and kindness touched everyone he met, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Manuel's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be remembered with love and fondness always.
