Ella Marie Horst

1949-2025

Ella Marie Horst, 75, passed away peacefully March 21, 2025, after a battle with cancer.

She was born Sept. 2, 1949, to the late James and late Etta Horst. Ella is survived by three sisters: Marjorie Horst of Salem, Ohio; Norma (Eugene) Schrock of Deming, New Mexico; Verna (Ivan) Weaver of Mifflintown, Pa.; and three brothers: Stanley (Leah) of Columbiana, Ohio; Dwain (Gloria) of Timberville, Virginia; Leon of Leetonia, Ohio. Her parents, two sisters: Janet (Rogelio) Pichiya and Lydia (Lloyd) Martin, an infant brother Kent, and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Leon) Horst preceded her in death.

Ella was a special aunt to 49 nieces and nephews. She spent many years serving the elderly as a caregiver. Ella was a lifetime resident of Columbiana and a member of the Mount Joy Mennonite Church.

The family wishes to thank Covington Skilled Nursing and Southern Hospice for making Ella's last days comfortable. Thank you also to the many friends and church family who supported her on her cancer journey.

Visitation will be held at Mount Joy Mennonite Church, 549 Chestnut St. Ext, Leetonia, Ohio, on March 26, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the same location at 10 a.m. on March 27, 2025, with visitation held one hour before, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service, with the burial following the service.

The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
