Roger L. Minor
1952-2025
SALINEVILLE — Roger L. Minor, 72, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 17, 2025.
Roger was born Oct. 31, 1952 in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late John and Velma “Peg” (Morris) Minor, and had lived in the area all of his life.
A 1971 graduate of Stanton Local High School, Roger worked at the former Crucible Steel in Midland until its closing in 1984. He then founded the Minor Supply Company in 1988 and was also a school bus driver for Southern Local.
He was a faithful and active member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church, where he served as a trustee, Elder, cemetery board member, head usher, and was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class, as well as helping with the Christmas Toy and Gift project. Roger was also an avid runner and ran in many marathons and half marathons. He also road and raced dirt bikes; was a member of Southern Ruritan Club, and he was a 32nd degree Mason with Wellsville Lodge #180 and Steubenville Scottish Rite.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, Marjorie K. (Witherow) Minor, whom he married April 13, 1991; daughters, Crystal Minor and Brenda (Mike) Lawson; brother, Tom (Carol) Minor; sister-in-law, Mary Witherow; grandchildren, Kyler Woodward, Andrea (Joe) Dowling, Allyson Woodward, and Tyler Minor; great-grandchildren, Jadyn, Beckett, Jordyn, Jaxyn, Wyatt, Joseph, and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roger was also preceded in death by his brother, John Minor.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2025 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 16521 Steubenville Pike Road, Salineville, Ohio 43945 with Pastor Terri Swails officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends and family from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home and from noon until the time of services Friday at the church.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Bethel Presbyterian Church.
