Martha (Jean) Straub

Martha (Jean) Straub, formerly of East Palestine, Ohio, passed away on Feb. 3, 2025 at the age of 84 in Winter Haven Florida at the Good Shepard Hospice House after a brief illness. She is dancing with the angels; anyone that knew Jean knew how she loved to dance. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to call her a friend, a mother, a grandmother or a sister. Most recently before her retirement she worked as a customer service representative for Sheely’s Furniture in North Lima as well as H&R Block in Winter Haven Florida.

Jean was born to Wayne Knight and Florence (Knight) Kliner on Aug. 6, 1940. She is survived by her daughter Pamela (David) Burt, son William (Sherri) Hawkins, brothers Robert (Suzanne) Knight, and Bill (Betty) Knight and her grandchildren Leslie (Jeff) Abbuhl, Kyle (Holli) Burt, Heather (Luke) Hakin, Amy (Joe) Roberts, and Amber (Chris) Masowick. She also leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Straub and her brother Donald (Shirley) Knight.

Per Jean’s request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date and internment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery next to her husband Charlie.
