COLUMBIANA -- Lorraine Shaughnessy, 96, of Columbiana, died on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, at Hampton Woods Nursing Center in Poland.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the only child of the late Riley and Josephine Falvo Tamper.
Lorraine was a graduate of Fifth Avenue High School in Pittsburgh, Pa., and was a devoted wife and mother of three boys. She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana where she was extremely active serving in various positions over the years. Lorraine also served on the board of directors for Meals on Wheels for 28 years. She enjoyed both cooking and gardening, but mostly, she enjoyed painting. She was a talented artist and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her husband, Charles W. Shaughnessy, whom she married on Sept. 10, 1949, preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2017.
Lorraine is survived by her two sons, Ronald (Karen) Shaughnessy of Charleston, S.C., and Michael (Maryann) Shaughnessy of Columbiana; eight grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn and his wife, Marion Shaughnessy.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, from 11 .am. to noon at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
Services will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home at noon.
Lorraine will be laid to rest with her husband at Columbiana Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the wonderful people at Poland Village Assisted Living, Hampton Woods Skilled Nursing and Hospice of the Valley.
