Kathryn L. Potyonek

1924-2025

EAST PALESTINE — Kathryn L. Potyonek, 100, passed away Feb. 10, 2025, at the Christian House Assisted Living in East Palestine.

Kathryn was born July 8, 1924, in East Liverpool, daughter of the late Henry and Eva Davis White.

She was a lifelong resident of East Palestine and a member of the First Church of Christ in East Palestine. She enjoyed crocheting and needlepointing.

Kathryn is survived by a son, James (Sue) Evans of New Waterford; daughter, Rebecca (Bob) Weikart of Boardman; a son-in-law, Robert Stanyard; four grandchildren, Patrick Chaplow, Andrew Chaplow, Matthew Stanyard and Sara Stanyard; eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters and numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren as well as extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Evans; her second husband, Robert Johnston; her third husband, Charles Potyonek; and a daughter, Bonnie Stanyard.

The family will receive friends at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the First Church of Christ in East Palestine with Robert Helbeck officiating. A private burial will follow at Glenview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers in Kathryn’s name to the First Church of Christ in East Palestine.
