Carolyn L. Crawford

COLUMBIANA — Carolyn L. Crawford, 93, of Columbiana, died on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, at The Inn at Old Saybrook, Columbiana.

She was born on Oct. 18, 1931, in Salem, daughter of the late Darrell and Violet Ramsey Rowlands.

Carolyn was a 1950 graduate of Salem High School, she moved to Virginia in 1968 with her husband, John, and it was there that they raised their family. While living in Virginia she served as an election official in Loudoun County. In 1998 Carolyn and John moved back to the area and lived in Columbiana, she became a member of St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, where she was a part of the Women’s Guild and Jude’s Dudes.

Her husband, John Eugene Crawford, whom she married on Sept. 10, 1955, preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2024.

Carolyn is survived by three children, Mark (Janine) Crawford of Leland, N.C., Jeffery (Annise) Crawford of Luray, Va., and Susan (Tim) Talley of Luray, Va.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Gloria Souder, of Columbiana, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Thomas Rowlands and Albert Rowlands.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, Columbiana.

Mass will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, Columbiana, with Father Chad Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Salem.
