EAST PALESTINE -- Carol L. Bollinger, 86, passed away Feb. 9, 2025, at Covington Nursing Center.
Carol was born July 31, 1938, in East Palestine, daughter of the late Roy and Thelma Sutherin Reesh.
She was a lifelong resident of East Palestine and an active member of the First Church of Christ in East Palestine, where she was a member of the choir and helped as a bookkeeper throughout the years. Carol was a graduate of East Palestine High School and was an avid bingo player and bowler. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and never missed their sporting events.
Carol is survived by a son, James Bollinger of East Palestine; daughter, Judy Nichols of Cartersville, Ga.; sister, Beverly Morris; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Bollinger in 2004; a son, George Bollinger Jr. in 2024; and a brother, Roy Allen Reesh.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Nick Ellefson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 1 to 2 p.m.
A private entombment will be held at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
