NEW WATERFORD -- Shirley Ann Jackson, 83, passed away on Jan. 27, 2025.
Shirley was born on Sept. 25, 1941, to the late John and Hannah Gilmore.
She resided in New Waterford all of her life and graduated from Crestview High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked for a number of years at the Howard Johnsons on the turnpike, the Country Corner, Crestview School District for 25 years as a bus driver and at the Sunflower Seed.
Shirley was an excellent cook, enjoyed family get togethers, crocheting, quilting and crafting. She will be extremely missed by her daughters but will be comforted to know she's square dancing with their dad again.
Shirley married Dalton "Tex" Jackson on July 26, 1963.
Shirley is survived by three children, Kim (John) Hamilton of Leetonia, Karen (Chuck) Gorby of East Palestine, Connie (Chris) Nakoneczny of Brooksville, Fla.; a sister, Doris "Snooks" Segletes of New Waterford; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a grandson, Dustin Gorby.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of visiting nurses, aides and everyone at Hospice House in Poland and Hospice of the Valley.
The family will hold private services, with burial to follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
