1942-2024
Robert "Bob" Hinchliffe, 82, passed on Dec. 28, 2024.
He was born to the late Charles L. and Dorothy J (Burns) Hinchliffe on April 19, 1942. Bob was born in Salem, Ohio, raised in Washingtonville, and attended Leetonia Schools. Bob was involved in athletics his entire life with football in high school and at Mount Union College. He went on to a career as a teacher, athletic director and coach at Marlington High School. He was also a wrestling coach for Mount Union College. Summers found Bob as the Director of the Alliance Area Youth Center, Manager of Putt-Putt Golf Course, and The Alliance Country Club pool. Retirement found him with a second career as a realtor. He loved to golf, fish, and spend time with his dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Skowron); his dog, Sophie; children, Paula (Frank) Patterson, Brian (Rebecca) Hinchliffe and Matthew (Suzanne) Hinchliffe; grandchildren, Carlyn, Maxine and Elias Hinchliffe, Briana and Katelyn Patterson; his great- granddaughter, Emilia Porter; and sisters, Carolyn (John) Gunyula, Cathy (Tony) Richmond and Penny (Don) Felger.
Calling hours will be held at the Union Avenue Methodist Church on Saturday, Jan. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon. A brief service will follow.
