NEW ALBANY, Ohio -- John F. Padurean, 68, formerly of Lisbon, passed away unexpectedly while surrounded by family members on Tuesday, Dec. 24, at the Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus following an apparent stroke.
John was born April 2, 1956 in Salem, Ohio, a son of the late Frank E. and Marjorie (Herron) Padurean. He lived in Lisbon until moving to New Albany with his wife in 2023.
A 1974 graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School, John was an HVAC specialist and owner of Padurean Heating and Cooling for over 40 years.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leetonia and a former member of the Lisbon First United Methodist Church.
John served on many church and school boards while raising his family in Lisbon. He enjoyed all sports as an avid Pittsburgh and OSU fan and coached each of his children in sports over the years. His favorite times were more recently spent with his seven beloved grandchildren.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Janet (Pancurak) Padurean, whom he married May 27, 1978; children, Lisa (Dana) Rose, Westerville; Scott (Amber) Padurean, Prairieville, Louisiana; Jeff (Mallory) Padurean, Canfield; and Todd (Lauren) Padurean, South Lebanon; sisters, Janice Cusick, Lisbon; Elaine (Stanley) Christy, East Liverpool; Cindy (Randy) Simmons, Lisbon; Linda (Rich) Frishkorn, Wellsville; Rhonda (Fred) Kloos, Lisbon; grandchildren, Zander, Paxton, Macy, Brooks, Ryland, Claire and Magnolia.
In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by his brother, Steven P. Padureanm and by his sister, Connie Corfee.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 29 Spruce St., Leetonia, Ohio 44431, with Rev. Kari Langford officiating.
The family will receive family and friends from 4 p.m. until the time of services Sunday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in John's memory to Angels for Animals to honor his love for dogs.
