Marjorie Roberts
1927-2024
COLUMBIANA -- Marjorie Roberts, 97, formerly of Rogers, passed away early Monday morning, Nov. 11, 2024, at Hampton Woods in Poland.
Marjorie was born on Sept. 5, 1927, in Alliance, the daughter of Arthur and Delpha Bandy Swindell. She earned her nursing license through a nursing program in Cleveland during World War II and worked as an RN throughout her life.
Marjorie married Harold E. Roberts on Nov. 9, 1952. They were members of the New Waterford United Methodist Church. After retirement, they enjoyed a winter residence in Florida, summers trips to their island cabin in Northern Ontario until Harold's death in 2007. She was an avid reader and enjoyed volunteering at Hospice of the Valley in Ohio, Hospice of Southwestern Florida, and the Way Station in Ohio. She was a humble servant of Our Lord.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Claudia Soldo of Petersburg; three sons, Robin (Elaine) Roberts of Shrewsbury, Mass., William (Linda Wentzel) Roberts of Rogers, and Alan Roberts of Salem; two brothers Dan and David Swindell; four grandchildren Sean, Michael, Emilee and Bryan, and three great-grandchildren Lucas, Nicholas and Layla.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold, son James Roberts and sister Pat Swindell.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at New Waterford United Methodist Church, 46925 S. State St., New Waterford, with Pastor Patrick Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at the church.
The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
