George A. Bollinger Jr.
1959-2024
EAST PALESTINE — George A. Bollinger Jr., 64, passed away Nov. 1, 2024, at the Hospice House in Poland.
George was born in Salem, Ohio, Dec. 26, 1959, son of George A. Bollinger Sr. and Carol Reesh Bollinger.
He was a graduate of East Palestine High School and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He faithfully served for over 20 years prior to his retirement and rose to the rank of staff sergeant. George proudly served in Kuwait and Desert Storm where he received southwest Asia and Kuwait liberation medals as well as many other commendations. He also served as past commander of the American Legion Post #31 in East Palestine, and a member of the East Palestine Sportsman Club where he enjoyed shooting sports.
George is survived by a daughter, Christene Bollinger of California; a granddaughter, Lulaine; mother, Carol Bollinger of East Palestine; brother, Jim Bollinger of Negley; sister, Judy Nichols of Cartersville, Georgia, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Bollinger Sr.
George will be recognized for his service with military honors at Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio at a private ceremony with his family.
A public celebration of life will be held at a later date at the American Legion Post #31.
Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
