Wilma Arkwright

1940-2024

Wilma Arkwright, 84, went to sleep on Sept. 30, 2024, in Lisbon, Ohio surrounded by her family.

Born on May 6, 1940, Wilma dedicated her life to her family, embodying the role of a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend with a caring nature, family-oriented spirit, and a robust sense of humor.

Wilma grew up attending Greenford High School and later embraced the full-time role of a homemaker, providing a nurturing and supportive environment for her family. She was a devout member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Lisbon, Ohio, where she participated actively in community and spiritual activities.

She married the love of her life and best friend Harry Arkwright on Dec. 3, 1960 and had 63 wonderful years with him. Other than her husband she is survived by children: Doug Arkwright (Debbie), Debbie Pearl (Rick), and Jeff Arkwright (Christine); grandchildren: Kaylee, Cody, Dustin (Kristyna), Kassidy, Cameron, and Devan (Mikaela); and great-grandchildren: Matthew, Khaleesi, and Kennedy. She also leaves behind her brother, Pete Sauerwein, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents Christine and Arnold Sauerwein, brothers Bill, Glen, and Arden, her niece Bobbie, and many cousins.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.

Wilma will be remembered for her strong will, her dedication to her family, and her ability to bring laughter and warmth to those around her. The family would like to extend its sincere thanks to Akeso Hospice for their loving care and support.
