Russell W. Ridgley

1942-2024

Russell W. Ridgley, 82, of Lisbon, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord on Oct. 12, 2024, at St. Elizabeth-Mercy Hospital in Boardman. Born on July 30, 1942, in West Point, Ohio, he was the beloved son of the late Ray and Lucy (Dawson) Ridgley.

Russell attended Beaver Local High School and went on to build a fulfilling career as a grinder for Crane Deming Pump in Salem, Ohio, where he worked diligently until his retirement in 2005. Outside of his professional life, Russell was a man of many passions and interests. He enjoyed spending time in nature, whether it be hunting, fishing, or riding his cherished Harley. In his later years, Russell found great joy in woodworking, often retreating to his "man cave" to create and craft with care.

A devoted member of the West Point Church of the Nazarene, Russell's faith was an integral part of his life. His presence within the church community will be deeply missed.

Russell is preceded in death by his loving parents, Ray and Lucy Ridgley; brother, Roland "Ron" Ridgley; and sister, Rose Cantwell.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Barnhart) Ridgley, whom he married on Sept. 8, 1973, and spent the next 51 years making special memories with. He also leaves behind his brothers, Gary Ridgley and his wife Jayne of Rogers, Jim Ridgley of Lisbon, and Mike Ridgley and his wife Cindy of Salem; and sister, Marlene Ridgley of East Liverpool. Russell also leaves behind many special nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his warmth and kindness.

A visitation to honor Russell's life will be held on Friday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists in Calcutta. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m., officiated by Pastor Mike Simms of West Point Church of the Nazarene.

Russell's legacy of love, strength, and generosity will forever be remembered by all who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
