Leetha Guy

1939-2024

Leetha Guy, 85, passed away at Salem Regional Hospital on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, after a brief illness.

Lee was born in Middleton Township, Ohio, on Feb. 4, 1939. She grew up in East Palestine, Ohio, where she graduated from high school in 1958. Her first job was as a waitress at Isaly's in East Palestine, a business she would later come to manage. From there she would move on to manage the Lil Shopper convenience store from the time it opened, through its transition to Country Fair, until it was sold and became Sami Quick Stop. After moving to Columbiana, she was employed at PHD Manufacturing until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in East Palestine. As a young woman, she enjoyed playing softball. Later in life, she and her sister Rachel spent many happy hours visiting various casinos to play the slot machines.

She is survived by her son, Herman Guy; son-in-law, Jay Sloan; sister-in-law, Donna (Falcon) Guy; brother-in-law, Bill Bevington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mamie (Heaton) Guy and John Guy; her sisters, Viola Frederick, Betty Kibler, Rachel Dailey, and Sue Bevington; and brothers, Thomas, Perry, John, Herman, and Ray Guy; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Per Lee's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. She will be cremated and interred privately at East Carmel Cemetery at a later date. She is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel.
