Joy Lynn Snyder

1954-2024

Joy Lynn (Weingart) Snyder, 70, fell asleep in Christ on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024. She awaits His return and the resurrection of the dead.

She was born on Sept. 29, 1954 in Salem to Donald and June Weingart.

Joy graduated from Salem High School in 1972. In 1974 she married Roger Snyder and they began their 50-year marriage together.

Together with Roger she was baptized and continued to be a member of the Paris Avenue Christadelphians in Louisville. For many years, she contributed her piano skills to their services. The Word of God was very important to Joy. She spent a lot of time working to understand the Bible and found joy in living according to the Word of God with Roger by her side. We are thankful that this brought comfort and peace as she moved through her final journey with cancer.

Joy was a very loving and caring grandmother to her six Grandchildren and over the years took care of each of them and spoiled them with special trips and lots of love!

Joy, Rosie, Mom, Grandma, Sugar MaMa was always there for us with love, support, and care. Through her life, she led by example on how to live with enormous love, patience, and support to all. She loved her flowers, gardens, chickens, and her love for butterflies was known by many.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Donald and June Weingart; her loving husband, Roger Snyder; her two children, Jennifer (Jeff) Amos, Ryan (Mary) Snyder and her six grandchildren, Madison Amos, Jacob Amos, Adeline Needs, Mason Amos, Henry Snyder and Hannah Snyder; her brother, Mike (Amy) Weingart. A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m.

Calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m.. Friday, Oct. 25.
