Gary Russell Clark
1943-2024
EAST LIVERPOOL — Gary Russell Clark, 81, a lifelong resident of East Liverpool, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024.
Gary was born on May 30, 1943, in East Liverpool a son of the late Ellen A. Clark and was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Eliza and Thomas Clark and his late aunt Dolores “Dee” Hendricks. He was known for his strong work ethic, Gary dedicated over three decades to the grocery and meat industry. Throughout his career, he was associated with Allison’s Market, A&P Supermarket, Billingsley’s Foodland, Wetterau, SuperValu and Shop & Save, earning a reputation for his commitment and expertise.
Gary was a proud graduate of East Liverpool High School, Class of 1961. He was a former member of the Jaycees, contributing to the community he cherished. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was a devoted member of St. John Lutheran Church, where his presence will be deeply missed.
Gary enjoyed traveling with his family. He had many hobbies and interests including working outside landscaping his yard, a lifetime of boating and was a Corvette enthusiast.
Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Jean Hickman Clark, who passed away on May 3, 2021. They were married on Oct. 6, 1962, and shared a lifetime of love and companionship, creating a legacy of family and faith.
Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Diana Zieschang and her husband Chris of Florida and Ellen Clark and her companion Nathan Howe of East Liverpool; four grandchildren, Jamie Martin II, Zachary Martin and his wife Rebecca, Tiffany Young and her husband Randy, and Konnor McCoy and her companion Trevor Gump; and four great-grandchildren, who carry on his legacy, Colby Young, Cooper Young, Hayden Martin, and Harper Martin.
Family and friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home with the Rev. Eric Edwards officiating on Monday at 11 a.m. with visiting one hour prior. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Immediately following the service, the family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
