LISBON -- Rita May Heim, 79, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 at the Salem Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Rita was born March 2, 1945 in Salineville, Ohio, a daughter of the late John P. and Delphia (Moore) Beverly.
Rita worked as a bus driver for the Columbiana County Education Service Center and Lisbon Schools.
She was a faithful member of the Lisbon Assembly of God Church and she loved to cook and bake.
She was also a member of the ladies' auxiliary of American Legion Post 43 of Troy, Ohio.
Rita is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband, John R. "Bob" Heim, whom she married Oct. 12, 1984; her daughter, Charlene (Greg) Blessing; sons, Steven (Julie) Stoffer, Ron Finch, and Gene (April) Finch; stepdaughter, Brenda Heim; sister, Freeda (Hurkus) Combs; brother, David (Sheri) Beverly; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rita was also preceded in death by her daughter, Melinda "Mindy" Todd; son, Dale Stoffer; brothers, Clarence Beverly, Maryland "Merle" Beverly, and John Beverly, great grandson, Derek Dennison; and stepson, Duane Heim.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, Sept. 23, 2024 at the Lisbon Assembly of God Church, 39442 state Route 517, Lisbon, Ohio 44432 with Rev. Greg Pennington officiating. Burial will follow at the Lisbon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the church.
Arrangements are in the care of the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home.
