Ernie L. Lautzenheiser, 73, of Winona and formerly of Kensington passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024 with his family at his side. He was born on July 23, 1951 to the late Donald and Deloris Lautzenheiser.
Ernie proudly served his country during the Vietnam War by serving in the Air Force. He continued serving his community as a volunteer fireman with the Hanover Township Fire Department. He worked at Eljers for many years. He later worked at United Local Schools. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing guitar and tinkering with cars. He married the love of his life Stephanie Lautzenheiser on July 4, 2004.
Survivors include his wife Stephanie and children Shawn (Christina) Lautzenheiser of Colebrook, Ohio, daughter Eliza (Justin) Call of Orwell, Ohio, son John (Lindsey) Reed of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, daughter Candice Russell of Lousiville, Ohio; grandchildren Thomas Martin, Alexander Lautzenheiser, Aaron Winchell Jr. Emily Winchell, Anthony Winchell, Baylee Call. and his siblings Linda (Bob) Scott, Jeanette (Randy) Liles, David (Doralie) Lautzenheiser, Wilbur (Lena) Lautzenheiser, Martha (Roy) Chism and Yvonne (John) McMillin.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Alicia Lautzenheiser.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday Sept. 1, 2024 at the Louisville Eagles from 2 to 5 p.m.
