Angelo L. Cianni,86, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024, at Salem Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 25, 1937, the son of the late Louis and Madeline (Groubert) Cianni. He attended school in Wellsville and resided in the area his entire life.
Angelo was the proud and beloved owner and operator of AC Plumbing and Heating during the 1960s and 1970s. His dedication to his craft later led him to a career in Maintenance at A&P Packing Plant in Salem, where he continued to provide for his family with hard work and determination.
A man of many passions, Angelo was an avid Steelers football fan who never missed a game. He found great joy in fishing and could be found on local lakes and rivers. He often spent cherished moments on Lake Erie, or in Alaska with his childhood friend. Known for his competitive spirit, he loved playing horseshoes with family and friends. One of his proudest legacies is the annual 4th of July family picnic and pig roast, which he began in the late 70s. This cherished tradition continues today, spanning three generations.
Angelo was a valued member of Moose Lodge 122 and the Glenmoor American Legion Post 736, where he formed lifelong friendships and contributed to his community.
Along with his parents, Angelo was preceded in death by: his son-in-law, Addie Birch; and his uncle, Earl Groubert.
He is survived by his loving children: Tina Cianni Birch of East Liverpool, Michael (Beth) Cianni of Lisbon, John (Starlyn) Cianni of Lisbon, and Louis Cianni, of Lisbon; six grandchildren: Amber (Derek) Wade, Ashley (Mike Davis) Cashdollar, Sunshine Burley, Joe Cianni, Bethany Cianni, and Evan (Kellee) Cianni; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters Joanne Pershing, of Florida, and Pauline Wayne, of Homeworth, OH, and his loving cousin, Jimmy Cianni.
Visitation to honor Angelo’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation in Calcutta from 1-3 p.m. and again from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery in Wellsville, where Angelo will be laid to rest.
Angelo will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, hard work, and family traditions will live on through the generations he so deeply impacted.
