Michael John Mansfield, born on February 24, 1952, passed away on June 26, 2024, while vacationing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He was 72 years old.
Mike was a proud member of the Class of 1970 from East Palestine High School. He dedicated 25 years of his career as a truck manager at Donnell Ford in Boardman, Ohio, where he earned the prestigious title of Salesman of the Year. Following his time at Donnell Ford, Mike transitioned into real estate, working with Gallagher, Clark, and Carney Realty Group, and went on to run Big Mike's Automotive Products at the Rogers Sale.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike found joy in enriching the lives of those around him. He delighted in filling in for Santa at the Joy of Christmas light display, bringing smiles to countless faces. His passion for refurbishing and selling antiques showcased his love for history and craftsmanship.
One of Mike's proudest achievements was raising money for Muscular Dystrophy through the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Above all, his greatest accomplishment was being a family man; to those who knew him best, he was the number one husband, father, and papa.
Mike was preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael Scott Mansfield; his granddaughter, Susan Christine Kemp; his parents, June Cheuvront Mansfield and Robert F. Mansfield; and his sister, Lynn Berger.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Sue Figley Mansfield; his loving daughter, Kristen Kemp (Eric) of Leetonia, Ohio; his caring son, Robert Mansfield (Nicole) of Columbiana, Ohio; and his cherished grandchildren, Zach and Emma Kemp, and Landon and Mikey Mansfield. He also leaves behind his sister, Patty Haney of East Palestine, Ohio; his brother, Bruce Mansfield of East Palestine, Ohio; his twin brother, Paul Mansfield (Deana) of Indiana; and his brother-in-law, Keith Berger.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the incredible person he was.
Mike's steadfast love, compassion, and dedication to his family and community will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
