Lenore Elaine Sechler

1936-2024

Lenore Sechler, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born Dec. 30, 1936, in Stark County, Ohio, to Clarence Christen and Laura Ann (Hahlen) Christen, growing up in Beloit, Ohio. Most notably she was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a long time member of 1st Christian Church of Kensington.

Lenore began her career after high school and retired after 43 years from ELJER Industries. Described as one who gave generously and selflessly, Lenore volunteered for almost 20 years at United Elementary as an aide and raising thousands of dollars through the Box Top program. Lenore was also an active member of the Hanover Township Historical Society, promoting Civil War reenactments and Peddlers Day. Being an avid NASCAR fan, Lenore reached her ultimate dream of going 165 miles an hour around Michigan Speedway at the young age of 75. She valued simple times, spending time with family and friends often reminiscing about fond memories with them.

Lenore is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Laura Ann Christen, her brother Lowell (Evelyn) Christen, and various aunts and uncles. Lenore is survived by her sister Lois (Jim) Coffield, her nieces and nephews Debbie (Jim) Russ, Jim (Jodi) Coffield, David Coffield, and Nathaniel Christen. Lenore is also survived by her great-nephew Andrew Coffield and great-niece Rachel Coffield.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 1st Christian Church of Kensington. 11021 state Route 644 Kensington, OH 44427 on July 27 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ryan Blaney Family Foundation. https://www.ryanblaneyfamilyfoundation.org.
