Steven James Sparbanie, 44, of Wheeling, W.Va., died peacefully at his home on April 4, 2024.
A Pittsburgh native, Steven loved baseball, football and reading action-fantasy novels and his cat Howie. He was a devout Christian and member of the Hammondsville Pine Grove Church. Steven was active in his apartment complex community at Montani Towers, serving on their Board of Directors; however, his greatest joy was seeing that his son Ian had grown into a fine young man.
Steven is survived by his son Ian, parents Robert and Charlene Sparbanie Sr. of Hammondsville and his beloved sisters Apryl (Brad) Peroney and Mindy Growe and brothers Robert Jr., Michael, Christopher and Timothy, niece Laci Growe and nephew Sean (Autumn) Growe.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Pine Grove Church in Hammondsville on Sunday, April 14, at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers his family kindly requests donations in Steven's name to either the Greater Wheeling Coalition for the Homeless or Northwood Health Systems -- two organizations that were vital to Steven's life. Nixon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
