EAST PALESTINE -- Sarah "Sally" McCauley, 98, passed away April 4, 2024, at the Christian House Assisted Living in East Palestine.
Sally was born March 13, 1926, in Salem, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Theresa McIlduff Reed.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was active with the Ladies Aid Society and Christian Mothers. Sally also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 31 in East Palestine. Sally was most proud of being a loving mother and grandmother dedicated to her church and family.
Sally is survived by four sons, James (Dawnalee) McCauley, Wayne (Judy) McCauley, Thomas McCauley and William McCauley; six grandchildren, Wayne McCauley, Lindsey Harper, Shawn McCauley, Brady McCauley, Jimmy McCauley, Leann Wild; and nine great-grandchildren, Tristan, Jillian, Jessa, Lane, Liam, Elly, River, Avery and Colton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne McCauley, in 2009, a brother, Dominic Reed, and a sister, Rosemary.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in East Palestine with Father Chad Johnson serving as celebrant. A private burial will follow at Glenview Cemetery.
