Geraldine 'Gerry' Foster
1935-2024
EAST PALESTINE -- Geraldine M. (Gerry) Foster, 88, passed away April 12, 2024, with family by her side.
Gerry was born September 25, 1935, in Warren, OH, daughter of the late, Owen Henry and Mary Jones Griffith.
She was a graduate of Howland High School. She moved to East Palestine after she married her husband Richard "Dick" Foster and called East Palestine home ever since. She was an avid reader and a member of the Gentle Reads Book Club at East Palestine library, which she enjoyed immensely. Gerry loved to crochet afghans and was glad she found Faith at Arnold's.
Gerry was preceded in death by her husband Richard "Dick" Foster, a daughter, Patricia L. Foster, brothers, John Griffith and George Griffith and other extended family members, Robert "Bob" and Donna Richey, Charles Foster, MaryJane and Fred Bock, Ed Paine and Sally Foster.
She was survived by her daughter, Linda (Doug) Lammert; granddaughter, Mary (Dan) Matthews and family; Janice Griffith, Hannah Paine, Joann Foster, Harry (Virginia) Foster, Clarence "Tex" Foster, Jim (Becky) Foster, Larry "Butch" (Karen) Foster, Willard Foster and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Pastor Cindy Figley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 10 to 11 a.m. Private burial will follow at Salem Reformed Cemetery in Unity.
The family would like to thank the East Palestine Fire Department and EMT's for all of the care given to Gerry. Memorial contributions in Gerry's name can be made to East Palestine Social Concerns or the East Palestine Alumni Association.
