Gerald “Jerry” Girard

1936-2024

Gerald (Jerry) Arthur Girard of Boerne, Texas, passed away at home on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Jerry was born in Leetonia, Ohio, to Esther and Fred Girard. He is survived by his wife Dr. Nancy Lewton Girard, his children Amy Girard, Matthew Girard and Valerie Girard Remmers and son-in-law Robert Remmers. He also leaves grandchildren Sylvester Girard and Shelby Remmers and a brother, Fred Girard.

Jerry graduated from Bowling Green University, Bowling Green, Ohio, with a master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling. He was a highly decorated and honored veteran who served our country in the Navy for four years then finished his military life in the Air Force as an officer where he served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Following retirement Jerry taught at John Jay High school, then obtained his real estate brokers’ license. He owned and operated J’s Properties for the rest of his life.

Jerry never knew a stranger. He touched the life of every person he met, in so many ways. He was always willing to help others. He could build or do about anything. His passions were family, friends, travel and golf. He is greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts.
