COLUMBIANA -- Timothy J. VanHorn, 74, of Columbiana, died on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, Youngstown.
He was born on Aug. 3, 1949, in Columbiana, a son of the late Leon and Ethel Allison VanHorn..
Timothy had worked as a machinist for NRM, McNeal and after retiring he continued to work with Dave Smith at S and S Machine. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed being outside and riding his lawnmower. Timothy was the most kind, giving, and generous person you would ever meet.
His wife, Ruth Irene Dotson VanHorn, whom he married on April 25, 1968, preceded him in death on Oct. 10, 2023.
Timothy is survived by his three children, Timothy M. (Annette) VanHorn of Lisbon, Kerri (Okley Jr.) Delo of Leetonia and Jason VanHorn of Salem; 11 grandchildren, David, Nichole and Zachary VanHorn, Joshua, Dylan and Devin Mathes, Alek, Andrew, Abbey, Austin and Aaron VanHorn; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Gwen and a brother, Tom.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Ruth, Violet, Joann, Patsy and Ellen, and a brother, Herb.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
