NEW WATERFORD -- Marsha Kay Simplican, 75, passed away March 12, 2024, at her home in New Waterford, Ohio.
Marsha was born on April 10, 1948, in Salem, Ohio, daughter of the late Howard and Maxine (Walters) Simplican.
Marsha was a lifelong member of Rogers Assembly of God Church where she was faithfully active in various ministries including Sunday School teacher, youth leader, Daisies volunteer and church secretary.
Marsha graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1966 at Beaver Local High School, and she continued her education at Duff's Business Institute in Pittsburgh, Pa., where she graduated with honors. She lived and worked in Pittsburgh at the Port Authority Transit before moving back to Ohio, in part due to her mother's health. She found employment in the secretarial pool at the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation in Boardman. After many years there, she secured a position at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center where she worked until her well-deserved retirement after 31 years. Marsha also was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Marsha is survived by two brothers, Michael J. (Linda) Simplican, Stephen J. (Sheryl) Simplican; one sister, Rebekah A. (Wynn) Cooper; and eight nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Sevacko officiating. A private interment will follow at East Carmel Cemetery in Rogers.
