SALEM -- Deborah Ann James, 66, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 28, 2024, at University Hospital in Parma.
Deborah, known to all as Debbie, was born on Jan. 15, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Vi (McGraw) Fitch.
Debbie was a 1976 graduate of Liberty High School. She retired from the ESC as a Para Educator in 2003. Prior to becoming a Para Educator, Debbie worked in the food service industry with Ike's and Denny's Restaurants. Her interests included baking, gardening, word searches, and planning games for holiday parties. Debbie was a fixture at local farmer's markets until the pandemic and wanted to be known for baking. She also enjoyed monster movies, "the cheesier the better."
Her husband, Robert James Jr. passed away Nov. 4, 2021. Debbie leaves two sons, Timothy James and his wife Sara of Salem, and William James with whom she made her home, three sisters, Sandy Bennett of Cleveland, Pam Protain Liberty Township, Brenda Bedio of Newport News, Va., as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Robert Jr. and her parents Charles and Vi, Deborah was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Freet, and a niece, Donna Jean Protain.
Friends and family will be received from 5 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 06, 2024, at 6 p.m. with Daniel P. Madden officiating.
