LISBON -- Donald E. Rose, 75, passed away quietly at 9:15 p.m., Monday, Feb. 5, 2024 at Salem North Healthcare Center with his loving family at his side.
Don was born Aug. 15, 1948 in Lisbon, a son of the late Richard V. and Grace A. (Palmer) Rose, and had been a life resident of Lisbon.
A 1966 graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School, Don retired after a 25-year career with General Motors Lordstown, where he worked as a foreman in the body shop.
He was a faithful member of the Church at the Center in Salem, the Lisbon Ruritan Club, New Lisbon Masonic Lodge #65 F&AM, and the Lisbon Historical Society. Don also enjoyed riding his Harley and boating.
His wife, Carol L. (McCamon) Rose, whom he married Sept. 14, 1968, preceded him in death Dec. 23, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his half-sister, Joyce Ann Ward.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Heather Gallo and her husband, Ross of Lisbon; his sons, Brent Rose and his wife, Danielle of Lisbon and Ryan Rose and his wife, Jamie of Leetonia; his brother, Dick Rose and his wife, Virginia of Salem; his grandchildren, Tyler Chestnut, Carter Rose, Brendan Rose, Mallory Gallo, Brielle Rose, Jaxson Rose, and Brady Rose; his cousin, Ed Browne and his wife Mary of Lisbon; and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held in the chapel at the Lisbon Cemetery with Pastor Tim Ginter officiating at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home.
