Lynn E. Berger

1946-2023

EAST PALESTINE — Lynn E. Berger, 77, a lifelong resident of East Palestine, passed away Dec. 23, 2023, at her residence with family by her side.

Lynn was born Sept. 24, 1946, in Miami, Fla., daughter of the late Robert and June Cheuvront Mansfield.

She was a 1964 graduate of East Palestine High School. Lynn was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Ladies Aid Society. She was employed for INSUL for a number of years, but most recently worked for Consumer Credit Counseling Services in Lisbon prior to her retirement. Lynn enjoyed reading and was a member of the local book club and also enjoyed cards and was a member of a card club. She also was a member of the East Palestine Pool Walkers, but she was most proud of her grandchildren and was their biggest fan at all their events.

Lynn is survived by her husband of 58 years, Keith Berger; two sons, Jeff (Dana) Berger of East Palestine, Jerod (Heather) Berger of Negley; a daughter, Jodi Fertsch of East Palestine; six grandchildren, Dominic and Sophia Fertsch, Emily and Elle Berger and Mariah and Alanah Berger; as well as three brothers, Mike (Sue) Mansfield, Paul (Deana) Mansfield, Bruce Mansfield; sister, Patty Haney, and a sister-in-law, Alice Molish, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Chad Johnson serving as Celebrant. A private burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
