Daniel "Dan" J. Monte, 69, of Wellsville passed Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born June 3, 1954, in East Liverpool, he was the son of the late Ralph and Margaret Nicholson Monte.
Dan was a graduate of Wellsville High School Class of 1973. He continued his education at Kent State University. He worked for numerous area billboard companies where he painted the billboards by hand. He also worked in the steel mill as a crane operator.
Dan was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed mountain biking. He was a great artist and loved working with his hands, especially woodworking and painting. Dan had a great sense of humor and that never left and was with him until the very end. Dan cherished his four-legged companions, Obi, Lilly, Chloe, Ellie and Gracie.
He will be missed by his loving wife, Vickie L. McFarland Monte; son, Daniel Monte Jr. of Wellsville; daughter, Dana Patterson (DJ) of Salineville; siblings, Ralph Monte (Cindy), John Monte (Jody), Vince Monte (Brandy), Mike Monte (Kara) and Gina Scardina (Andy); grandchildren, Blain Patterson, Desirae Monte, DJ Monte, Tanner Patterson and Leland Monte; and great-grandchildren, Addilynn Monte, Christopher Wheat, Angelo Wheat and Stevie Rae Rose Monte.
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at Everyone's Welcome Church in Salineville at 2 p.m. The Arner Funeral Chapel assisted with making these arrangements.
