Bessie Luella Sheely

NEW GARDEN — Bessie Luella Sheely, 86, passed away peacefully Dec. 19, 2023.

Born Nov. 4, 1937, in New Garden, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Celesta (Stoudt) Conser.

An Augusta High School graduate, she retired from PCC (formerly TRW) in Minerva and was a member of the New Garden United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her children, Janie (Virgil) Wherry of Lisbon and Peggy May of New Garden; grandchildren, Chase, Sam, Keaton (Kayo), Alex, Mollie (Justin), Matt (Katie) and Morgen; great-grandchildren, Robert, Deegan and Dakota; brother, Fred (Dorothy) Conser; and family members, Jennifer Engle, Beth Pottschmidt and Kathy (Sheely) Hall.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Richard (Phyllis) Conser and Linda Engle; and niece, Diane Engle.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to noon at New Garden United Methodist Church, with a funeral service to immediately follow. Burial will take place at Woodsdale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
