Barbara Jean May

COLUMBIANA — Barbara Jean May, 86, passed away Dec. 25, 2023, at Parkside Health Care Center.

Barbara was born Feb. 6, 1937, at home in Rogers, daughter of the late Paul and Bertha Burkhart Burson.

She was a lifelong resident of Columbiana County and was a graduate of New Waterford High School. Barbara was a member of the Columbiana Church of Christ and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, mostly flowers and herbs, and was an avid square dancer along with her husband.

Barbara is survived by two sons, Ken (Irene) May of New Waterford, Bob (Annie) May of North Carolina; a daughter, Karen (Tom) Reidy of Rogers; two sisters, Janice Glover of Rogers and Doris Klamm of Cleveland; as well as five grandchildren, R.J., Matt, Sam, Ben and Jason.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth May in 1998 and a brother, Jack Burson.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. The family will receive friends prior to services from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
