Nora E. Eaton

EAST PALESTINE — Nora E. Eaton, 100, passed away Nov. 20, 2023, at Parkside Healthcare Center in Columbiana.

She was born Feb. 24, 1923, in Washingtonville, Ohio, daughter of the late George and Mary Houp Dilling.

Nora was a World War II veteran having served in the Women’s Army Corp serving as a mail carrier at Wright Patterson Air Base. Nora worked as a seamstress prior to retirement. She had worked for Kenmar, Pittsburgh Chair and Franklin Furniture as well as self employed doing work for various companies at her home. She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, gardening and watching the deer at her home.

Nora is survived by two sons, John (Patricia) Eaton of Lisbon, George Eaton of East Palestine; five daughters, Kay Davidson of Salem, Maye Bradley of Lisbon, Gayle Blackwell of Salem, Patricia (Keith) Dickey of New Waterford, Dawn (Tim) Phillips of East Palestine; brother, Henry Dilling of Ft. Myers, Fla.; 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Eaton in 2002; two sons-in-law, Gary Davidson and Dave Bradley; three brothers, John and Jesse Dilling and George Keagy; two sisters, Ida Chaplow and Ruth Forney; and four grandchildren, Steven Wukotich, Courtney Dickey, Tabitha and Samantha Eaton.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Dale Regner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
