Joyce McGuire

EAST PALESTINE — Joyce McGuire, 75, passed away unexpectedly Saturday at her residence.

Joyce was born Sept. 4, 1948, in Kellersburg, Pa., the daughter of Robert J. and Betty (Gould) Bish, and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from East Palestine High School.

Joyce retired from East Palestine High School in 1999 where she was the head cook for 15 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, East Palestine Historical Center, one of the founding members of East Palestine Sportsman Club Women’s Auxiliary, Stayin-Alive Cardio Drummers Group, Silver Sneakers, and the Tai Chi Group.

Joyce married Charles J. McGuire Oct. 18, 1969; Charles passed away Jan. 18, 2015. She is survived by her daughter Heather (fiance Rob Eckley) of Raleigh, N.C.; son Robert of Beaver Falls, Pa.; sisters Patricia (Rick) Altland of York, Pa., Nancy (Fud) Rearick of New Bethlehem, Pa., RuthAnn Davis of Maryville, Ohio, and Bonnie (Jon) Ferrell of Wittmann, Ariz. Joyce also is survived by many nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband and brother Ronald Bish.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Joyce’s life at a later date. Linsley-Royal Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
