Jaime Lynn Thompson

1976-2023

Jaime Lynn Thompson 47, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023 in Clinton, N.C.

She was born April 13, 1976, a daughter of Mark Soukup (Laurie) and the late Barbara Jean (Rowland) Soukup.

Jaime was a graduate of Southern Local Jr. Sr. High School Class of 1995. She will be remembered for all the heart that she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each of them and if you knew Jaime, you knew it. She will be missed dearly.

In a word Jaime was curious, and her inquisitiveness and keen intellect drove all of her pursuits.

She enjoyed moving around to different states, making new friends and exploring the area.

Her passion was helping people from all walks of life.

She was driven by a kind and generous heart. Jaime was well known for giving her own clothes and possessions away to those less fortunate than her. Along with her kind heart, Jaime also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to paint.

Jaime taught herself Spanish in which she was very fluent. She enjoyed helping others learn the Spanish language as well.

Jaime's feline companions were very near and dear to her. She would never shy away from taking in and caring for any cats that did not have a home.

Jaime is survived by a son, Brandon Thompson of Clinton N.C.; four brothers, Greg Soukup (Ronda) of Cleveland, Kevin Soukup of Chico, Calif., Bruce Soukup (Christina) of Mocksville N.C.; a sister, Sara Becka (Shane) of Crown Point, Ind.; and 17 nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her mother, Jamie was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Jaime was a beautiful person inside and out. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She was so kind and passionate.

She made an impact on many people's lives. She will forever be missed.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Jaime and her family.

Services will be held at the Kerr Watson Funeral Home in Salineville Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023 at 2 pm. with Rev. Ted Ludwig officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery to follow.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday two hours prior to the service from noon to 2 p.m.
