Byron Edgar Surgeon

Byron Edgar Surgeon passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023. He was born in East Liverpool, Ohio Nov. 6, 1940. Byron graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1958. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1964-1968 and served on the USS Valley Forge. After the Navy Byron was an over-the-road semi truck driver for several companies. During this time he enjoyed his travels, visited many states and made many friends. Byron was a member of the Masonic Temple. His hobbies included model trains, anything to do with the computer – especially games – and watching westerns on the television.

Byron lived much of his life at Guilford Lake. His daily walks with his pugs and routine visits with everyone will be truly missed in his neighborhood. He will be remembered by all, including JR Chilson, his very close friend, as a kind, caring helpful friend and neighbor.

Byron was preceded in death by his parents Donald E. Surgeon and Thelma M. (Laughlin) Surgeon; a great-nephew, Nolan Blue Porter; and his two pugs, Sweetie Pie and Chloe. He is survived by his sister, Glenda Jean (Paul) Lucas; two nieces, Melissa (Alan) McLeish and April Porter; great-nephews Iain Blue McLeish and Trey Porter, all of Columbus.
