EAST PALESTINE -- Beverly Ann Doran, 80, a lifelong resident of East Palestine, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at her residence.
Bev was born May 29, 1943, in Monongahela, Pa., daughter of the late Joe and Eleanor Neff Watson.
She owned and operated Doran Catering for 40 years, helping many local families with their events and bereavement meals, and was an active member of Centenary United Methodist Church in East Palestine for many years. She was loved by all who knew her and helped and encouraged everyone who needed it. Her loss will leave a void in the hearts of many in her community.
Bev is survived by her son, Brian (Laura) Doran of New Middletown; sisters, Cheryl (Bill) Duff of Enon Valley, Pa., Donna Cusick of East Palestine. Bev was also a loving and proud grandmother of eight grandchildren, Sara (Sean) Page of Columbus, Justin (Nikki) Doran of Columbus, Garrett Doran and Macy Doran, both of New Middletown; Broc (Anna) Doran of New Waterford, Joshua Doran of New Waterford, Kaylee (Bob Bergstrom) Doran of Columbus and Bree (Jake) Hitt of Rogers; as well as five great-grandchildren, Caden, Madi, Owen, Reed and Niall Doran.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Kenneth P. Doran, and two sons, Douglas and Gregory Doran; a brother, Joe Watson Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Glenn Cusick.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Mark McTrustry and Cindy Figley officiating. A private burial will take place at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are welcome to join the family for a time of fellowship at the East Palestine Eagles, 320 E. Taggart St., East Palestine, following the services.
