Betty Jean Conrad
1934-2023
Betty Jean (Chamberlain) Conrad, 89, passed to her eternal home where she was greeted by the love of her life, her husband, William Conrad Sr., who preceded her in death in 1980. She was born May 10, 1934, the daughter of Paul and Velma Chamberlain, who also preceded her in death.
A longtime Wellsville resident, she was survived by two sons, William Jr. (Tina) Conrad and Rick (Vickie) Conrad; grandchildren, Brittney (Stephen) Varkony, Nicci (Tim) West, B.J. (Cristy) Conrad, Sam Conrad, John Conrad, Mikala (David Taylor) Conrad and Zack Conrad; 17 great-grandchildren and a special niece, who was like her daughter, Alma (Larry) Claypool; and her brother, Robert (Jean) Chamberlain.
Betty was a faithful member of the West Point Nazarene Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher, treasurer and helped greatly putting on many community dinners from the church. Her church family was her second family that she loved and supported her whole life.
She also worked for more than 45 years as a cook for the Beaver Local School District. After retiring, she went back to the district and volunteered as a cook. She was definitely known for making the absolute best no-bake cookies and peanut butter squares ever! Betty also worked many years at the local voting polls during elections.
Roberts Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., with a celebration of life at 7 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at the West Point Nazarene Church in West Point. Pastor Michael Simms of West Point Nazarene Church will officiate. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, to make donations in Betty’s name to the West Point Nazarene Church, 13334 West Point Road, Lisbon, OH 44432.
