RAVENNA — Marvin (Pete) Yoder, 78, went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday. He was born in Meyersdale, Pa., to the late Fred Yoder and Sarah Yoder.
Marvin was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Fred Yoder Jr. (Pat) of Portsmouth, Va., and brother-in-law Phil Miller (Martha) of Chesapeake, Va. His surviving siblings are Ed Yoder (Cathy) and Martha Miller (Phil), both of Chesapeake, Va.
Marvin is survived by his wife Carol (Oswald) of 55 years; and four children, Kimberly (Wayne) Strudthoff of Clyde, Michael (Beth) Yoder of Avon, Benjamin (Jessica) Yoder of Aurora and Angela (Neal) Windley of Clayton, N.C. He leaves behind eight grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Nathan (Brooke), Jacob and Emma Strudthoff, Ava and Ashlyn Windley, Anna Yoder, Ethan and Elliot Yoder.
He was a longtime member of North Lima Mennonite Church. He was a farmer for more than 40 years in Columbiana County and also drove truck for various companies in his later years. He and Carol enjoyed cruising with close friends and spending time with loved ones. They recently moved to Ravenna to be closer to family.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel and Monday, Oct. 16, 2023 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Aurora Mennonite Church with burial to follow at the Aurora Mennonite Church Cemetery.
