Ethan James Barker

WELLSVILLE – Ethan James Barker of Wellsville passed away suddenly from a hunting accident Sunday morning, Oct. 1, 2023. He was 12.

Born in East Liverpool Feb. 3, 2011, he was a son of Nichole Barker of Wellsville and the late Daniel Alan Barker Sr. Ethan was a seventh-grade student at Beaver Local Schools. Previously, he attended Southern Local School where he played safety and linebacker on the football team.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two brothers, Nicholas Barker and Daniel A. Barker Jr., and a sister, Katelynn Marie Barker. He is also survived by his paternal grandfather, Dennis Barker Sr. and his wife, Martha, and his maternal grandfather, David Homan, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Along with his father, he was also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Elsie Homan, and his paternal grandmother, Loretta Barker.

Rev. Mark Blakeley will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service. He will be laid to rest next to his father at Spring Grove Cemetery.
