Barbara L. Greaves

EAST PALESTINE — Barbara L. Greaves, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman.

Barbara was born Feb. 4, 1953 in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles and Wilma Saviers Cyrus.

She was a 1971 graduate and Salutatorian of East Palestine High School and then went on to graduate from the University of Toledo with a bachelor’s degree. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and worked as an office manager for local car dealerships for many years prior to her retirement. Barbara also served as an Advanced EMT with the East Palestine Fire Department for over 30 years.

Barbara is survived by two sons, Scott (Jeannie) Greaves of New Waterford, Matthew (Erica) Greaves of Negley; two sisters-in-law, Karen and Kim Cyrus; and four grandchildren, Kendra, Christian, Rowen and Kinsley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lee and Charles Cyrus.

Following Barbara’s wishes, no services will be observed.
