Ruth Seidner

1933-2023

COLUMBIANA — Ruth Seidner, 89, a former longtime resident of East Palestine, passed away Sept. 15, 2023, at Parkside Health Care Center.

Ruth was born Nov. 1, 1933, in Calcutta, Ohio, daughter of the late Carl and Mildred Ferguson Biser.

Ruth is a lifelong resident of the area, having graduated from New Waterford High School and a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in New Waterford. She was employed for over 20 years with Simmons Orchard in various capacities.

Ruth is survived by three daughters, Pat (Scott) Fowler of Columbiana, Kathy (Don) Hardin of Columbiana, Bonnie (Gary Mayor) Gray of Parma; brother, Frank (Geraldine) Biser of East Palestine; as well as five grandchildren, Carrie, Mike, Bobby, Nick and Kevin; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Kenneth Seidner; a daughter, Vickie Seidner; three brothers, Bill, Charlie and Eugene Biser; three sisters, Dorothy Barnhouse, Margaret Callahan and Marie McCann; and a granddaughter, Melody Hardin.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Pastor Pat Smith officiating. A private burial will follow at Petersburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
