Kenneth E. Berresford

EAST PALESTINE — Kenneth E. Berresford, 78, passed away September 9, 2023, at the Heritage Valley Beaver Medical Center.

Kenneth was born in New Brighton, Pa., June 21, 1945, son of the late Glenn and Margaret Lockhart Berresford.

He was raised in Patterson Township, Pa. but has been a resident of East Palestine since 1976. Kenneth was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School and a proud veteran of the US Army Reserves, having served with the 475th Quartermaster. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in East Palestine and a member of the steel workers union, having worked for B&W/Koppell Steel for 50 years retiring in 2015. When not working he enjoyed spending time with his son in the garage building and racing hot rods. He also enjoyed fulfilling a dream touring Route 66 from Chicago all the way to the San Francisco Bay. But of all his passions, spending time with his beloved granddaughter Sadie Anne, was when he was his happiest.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn Stein Berresford; a son, Samuel (Heather) Berresford of East Palestine; granddaughter, Sadie Anne and a sister, Barbara (William) Shaffer of Darlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Judy Berresford.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of Christ in East Palestine with Robert Helbeck officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the CCU at Heritage Valley Medical Center for the care they showed to Kenneth and his family.
