(Helen) Hope Elick

JEFFERSON, Ind. — Hope Elick, 76, died unexpectedly at her home in Jeffersonville, Ind. on Saturday, Sept. 9 2023.

She was born January 20, 1947 in Akron, Ohio, a daughter to the late James G. and Helen Brewster.

She graduated from East Palestine High School in 1966, and attended Youngstown State University for education.

Hope worked in retail until she married Michael Elick on August 29, 1970. Once married, she was a homemaker.

Hope had many talents. She loved to cook and was told by many that she should write a cookbook. Hope was accomplished in sewing and could knit sweaters without flaws. She was also an avid reader. These were just a few of the things she enjoyed.

She was kind, generous, and wanted the very best for people. She will be greatly missed by her husband Michael, brother James Brewster (Nancy) of New Middletown, sister Faith Evans (Bill) of Columbiana and the many in-laws, nieces and nephews she had.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Carol Turner and a nephew Michael David Elick.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
