Frances Mary Smith

Frances Mary Smith, 79, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023 at Carriage Inn of Steubenville. Fran was born Nov. 8, 1943, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of the late Andrew Cavaciuti and Anna (Blendowski) Cavaciuti.

Fran was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Fran was a member of the Eagles in Wellsville, loved spending time with family, playing bingo, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fran worked for Kent State, doing janitorial services, and tended bar for the Abdella’s at the City Grill.

Fran is survived by her brother, Andrew; daughter, Dawn Rosato; son, Fredrick (Kelly) Rosato; son-in-law, Daniel Howell; five stepsons, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, with a fourth on the way. Fran is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins; also the staff at Carriage Inn of Steubenville, who had become her second family. Special thanks to Kim Blake and Melanie Coburn for their exceptional care and compassion.

Fran was greeted in heaven by her four sisters, one brother, her loving husband, Clyde (Sonny) Smith, her parents, Andrew and Anna Cavaciuti, and her daughter, Christine Howell.

Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 11, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the MacLean Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists-Riverside Ave., Wellsville.
