Becky L. Shearer

EAST PALESTINE — Becky L. Shearer, 65, passed away August 15, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Boardman.

She was born October 20, 1957, in Salem, Ohio, daughter of the late John Shearer, Jr. and Eunice M. Woods Shearer.

Becky was a lifelong resident of East Palestine and was a graduate of East Palestine High School. She worked as a dispatcher for Leetonia Police and Fire for 25 years, having just retired in February. Many years ago, Becky also worked at the Shamrock in East Palestine.

Becky is survived by a son, John Wesley (Michelle) Shearer III of East Palestine; two grandchildren, John Wesley Shearer IV and Vanessa Michelle Shearer as well as a cousin, Shari Matthews of East Palestine, her best friend, Tracy McCreary and her beloved pets, her dog Lulu and cat, Draino.

Following Becky’s wishes, no public services will be observed.

Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
